DFD COOKBOOK RECIPE
229 receptions, 2796 yards, 26 touchdowns
44 kick returns, 936 yards, 1 TD
37 punt returns, 814 yards, 6 TD
Today we are going to look at one of the most electric pass catchers in this year’s draft class. Christian Kirk was a highly recruited five-star prospect from Saguaro HS in Scottsdale, AZ. He chose the Aggies over Arizona State, Auburn, and UCLA. As a true freshman Kirk set the A&M freshman record for all-purpose yards. As a freshman and sophomore, he had 80-plus catches both seasons. Kirk was named a team captain before his junior year. As a junior, he returned three punts back for a touchdown and had a 100-yard kick return TD against Arkansas.
2016: Tennessee, Alabama
2017: UCLA, Arkansas, Wake Forest (Bowl)
Kirk lacks ideal height for a number one wide receiver. He seems to be more suited for the slot than as an outside receiver.
Christian Kirk has game-changing skills. He is electrifying with the ball in his hands. I think he will make his mark early on as a return specialist and a slot receiver. I don’t know if he will ever be a true #1 wide out. I still think Kirk will hear his name called in the late portion of round one.
